Aminu Hawa and Amin Karima together with their siblings lost their father two months ago. Their father had suffered from a mental disorder for over two years. He was found dead in their kitchen and sources had it that he hanged himself. Aminu Hawa and Aminu Karima are students of Malikiya M/A Islamic School. They have a kid sister who also attends the same school with them and a kid brother who attends Bright Masters Academy a private school located at Gumani. They stay at Nabtina an area very close to Gbanyamni. Their father used to be the one taking them to school and picking them when they close despite his condition.
Since the lost of their father, movement from Nabtina to Anbariya Islamic school and Bright Masters Academy has become so difficult for them. Their uncle (who is believed to be in his mid to late 40s) stays in a different area but works at Aboabo as a welder. Every night he goes to Nabtina to spend the night with the kids and when day breaks, he picks them to school and he will then go home and prepare for work. This has put a lot of pressure on him due to the nature of his job together with his daily schedules, it becomes difficult for him to pick them from school when they close. For this reason, they sometimes pick Auto Richshaw popularly known as Yellow Yellow and drop at Tuunaayili junction. From the junction, they walk to Nabtina and before they get home, they become so exhausted. Other days too they may not have money for Yellow Yellow hence they will walk from Anbariya to Nabtina.
Al Yataama Care Foundation team came across them and found it necessary to extend a helping hand. The team paid them a visit at Nabtina a day before yesterday and had a discussion with the uncle and their mothers. Permission was sought from their uncle to support the orphans and the permission was granted.
Yesterday in the afternoon around 2pm, the team budgeted an amount of GH828 to help provide bicycles for these orphans. This was to help make movement to and from school very easy for them. Two new bicycles were bought for them with each costing GH400. The two bicycles all amounted to GH800. The team was advised to provide locks for them and the locks were also bought an amount of GH20 for the two bicycle. GH800 was spent on purchasing the two bicycles. Mobile money charges took GH8 and GH20 was also spent on the locks. In all, a total amount of GH828 was spent on the project. The yellow yellow driver who carried the bicycles to Nabtina happened to be one of the founding members of Al Yataama Care Foundation hence he didn’t pick money for the transportation.
Upon arrival their uncle invited the chief Imam of Nabtina area to represent the family in accepting the donation from the team. They expressed joy and show gratitude for the kind gesture Al Yataama Care Foundation extended to them. Pictured below are videos and pictures of what transpired from the purchasing point to the donation point.
This project wouldn’t have been successfully without the support of our donors. May Allah bless all our donors and grant each and everyone of us the capacity to do more.
